Victoria Josephine Bidwell, 87, of Honesdale, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Carbondale Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George Albert Bidwell on September 10, 1993.

Born on September 5, 1931 in Cold Springs, she was the daughter of the late Victor (Withol) and Helen Koreiwa Bociarski.

Victoria worked for Katz Factory as a seamstress for 35 years and continued to work for Lilly, who took over the factory until it closed. Vicky enjoyed sewing. She made beautiful linens and clothing for herself and family. She had a wonderful talent and was very creative when making hers and others outfits.

She was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.

Surviving is her son Victor Bidwell and wife Wanda of Hartselle, AL; her daughter Stella Brush of Hawley; her sisters Pauline Naring, Helen Mosher and Sophie McConnell. Also surviving are her grandchildren Nichola McNulty, Amy Frey, Victoria Nielson, Keith Krabel and Brett Bidwell; great grandchildren Marissa and Britney Smith, Emma and Alanna Frey, Cara Beth and Maggie James Nielson.

Vicky was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Eggelton, Anna Acker, Ida Burkavage, Jenny Tuleya and her granddaughter Sarah Beth Bidwell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 7th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Honesdale. As per her request, there will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
