Obituaries » Timothy Collins Funeral Home Hessling Funeral Home Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Timothy Collins, born May 10, 1947, in Queens, NY, was predeceased by his parents Joyce and Edward Collins, brothers Brian and Paul, and wives Eileen and Melaine. He is survived by his wife Francie, sister Missy McGuire, daughters Michelle Warner and Christie Collins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family, and friends. Tim served as a US Army drill sergeant at Fort Gordon, Augusta, GA, where he began his family with Eileen. Upon returning to New York, he worked for Monticello’s water treatment department and developed a passion for training Standardbred horses. While briefly pausing his horse training, he and his second wife Melaine bred miniature donkeys and managed a small nursery before she passed away. He worked as a truck driver for New England Motor Freight and various other companies as an independent drive until his retirement. Tim farmed and resumed horse training with Francie, enjoying bluegrass concerts and other activities when not tending the farm. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
