Obituaries » Thomas S. Roe Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Thomas S. Roe, or as he was better known, Skid Roe, passed away in the early morning hours of December 11,2019. He was 79 years old. Born in Honesdale to Elsworth and Beatrice Megivern Roe. He was preceded in death by sister Catherine “Kate” Jensen Liptak and husbands Joseph Jensen and Paul Liptak, brother Joseph “Bud” Megivern and wife Barbara, sister Caroline Ordnung and husband James, and brother David R. Roe Sr. A nearly lifelong resident of Wayne County, Skid served with Company A of the 249th Engineer Battalion, the Army Corp of Engineers as a structural steel specialist. After leaving the Army, he became a carpenter. Construction was his career, but sports were his passion. He caddied on local golf courses as a teen and participated in several local sports leagues throughout his life. Whether it be billiards, golf or baseball, if he wasn’t playing he was watching. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia Roe as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In keeping with his wishes, the family will hold a private funeral at a future date.
