Obituaries » Thomas J. Huber Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Thomas John Huber, 74, of Waymart, died on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Joanne M. Kowtko. The couple married on May 6, 1972. Born on October 24, 1949 in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Emilia (Korchzynski) Huber. He served in the New Jersey National Guard. For many years, Tom owned and operated Butler Transmission in Butler, NJ. After selling his business, he worked at Family Ford in Netcong, NJ and Route 23 Auto Mall in Butler, NJ. In 2007, he and his wife settled in Waymart. A man who could not sit still long, he began working at Enterprise in Honesdale until recently becoming ill. Tom always had something he was working on. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, working on home projects, cooking, repairing guns and helping friends. He loved talking to people and spending time with his neighbors. He especially loved catching up with his grandsons and hearing what they had going on in their lives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Huber of Matamoras; his son, Thomas M. Huber of Allentown; and his grandchildren, Emre Thomas, Mason Michael and Zane Emerson Huber. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at The Settlers Inn, 4 Main Ave., Hawley, PA 18428 at 1 o’clock. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
