Moulton Funeral Home Hessling Funeral Home Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Stephen Ross Moulton, 56, of Honesdale, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2026, after a courageous journey with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Judy Moulton. They were married on April 29, 2006. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret (Peichel) Moulton of Greenville, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Moulton. Also surviving are two children, Reilly and Zoe; two brothers James Moulton and Daniel Moulton; one sister Melissa Costello; as well as nieces and nephews. Born on April 3, 1970, in Atlanta, Georgia, Stephen graduated from Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina. Stephen dedicated his life to the principles of selfless service. He lived as a resident of the Himalayan Institute community for 15 years and served as its Director of Business Operations and Treasurer. Known for his integrity and steady leadership, he found deep fulfillment in supporting the Institute’s mission. His commitment to service extended throughout the Honesdale community. In addition to being an active member of the Honesdale Rotary Club and representing the Himalayan Institute in the Honesdale Ministerium, he was involved in numerous community organizations and initiatives, contributing wherever he saw a need. He was especially passionate about environmental sustainability and caring for the natural world. Through his involvement with NASA’s Earth to Sky program, he helped to spearhead local initiatives that inspired environmental awareness and action within the community. Stephen enjoyed board games, computer games, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to meet new people, share what he was inspired by and had a gift for making others feel welcomed and valued. Throughout his illness, Stephen faced each challenge with remarkable grace and acceptance. His kindness, courage, and concern for others remained constant, inspiring all who knew him. Stephen will be remembered for his playful sense of humor, quiet strength, and lifelong dedication to selfless service. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his generosity, friendship, and love. A Celebration of Life is being planned for later in the summer at the Himalayan Institute.
