Stanley Martin Petroski, Sr., 87, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Nora M. Klinkiewicz. The couple married on October 9, 1954.

Born in Carbondale on August 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Martin Sr. and Helen Petroski. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be greatly remembered for his love of the outdoors, hunting and pride for his “trophy room.” He loved telling stories of his life on the road as a livestock dealer and of his many family and friends.

Also surviving are his sons Charles and wife Jimann, David, Daniel, Timothy and Thomas and wife Lynnita; his daughters Valerie Reese and husband Robert and Karen Petroski; his siblings Florence Downton and husband Denny, Joseph Petroski and John Petroski and wife Doldie and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Stanley Jr. and Andrew; siblings Frank, Martin and his wife Dolly, Josephine and Ann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20th at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale at 10 am. Interment with military honors will be held in the spring in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
