Shirley Mae Abraham, 90, of Honesdale, died on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Abraham in 1996.

Born on August 14, 1925 in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Emily Damm Richards. She was a graduate of GAR High School in Wilkes Barre, PA.

A housewife and mother, she was loving and unselfish. She was an expert seamstress, exquisite cook and decorator. She loved to golf, play cards and enjoyed the ladies from the Seelyville Sunday School, “Sunbeam Class.”

Shirley made her home an absolute delight to enter with her warmth, sense of humor and loving way. Her family and home was her life. It beamed with strong traditional values. The holidays were so special with her grand decorations, delightful cuisine and warm and loving atmosphere.

She was a member of Cricket Hill Golf Club and a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her sons Bill Abraham Jr. of Honesdale and Mark Abraham of New York, NY; daughters Shirley Posner of Gettysburg, PA, Dr. Suzanne Abraham of New York,NY, Elizabeth Abraham of Honesdale and Bonnie Abraham of Honesdale; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Rachael E. Abraham; her brother Lloyd and sister Emma.

As per her request, cremation will be held. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home,Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
