Sharon Marie (VanSickle) Smith, 75, of Honesdale, died on March 11, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman V. Smith on September 3, 1991.

Born on March 26, 1946 in South Canaan, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Ellen (Black) VanSickle.

In 2020 Sharon retired from Ellen Memorial Health Care Center where she was a Certified Nurses Assistant for 27 years. Prior to that she worked at Katz Underwear Company.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was known to many for her kind heart. She had many great friends she considered family. Sharon spent a lot of time at the Lake and Brook Club where she and family made many memories together. She also served on the board of Indian Orchard Cemetery.

Surviving are her children, Tammy Box and husband Norman, Vicky Latourette and husband Gerrit and Robert Smith and wife Christina all of Honesdale and Darlene Smith Drongoski of Beach Lake; Angela Smith Rutledge, widow of Bradley V. Smith; her sister Jean Cicco; sister-in-law Joyce Corteze; brother-in-law, Charles Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Box LoPresti and husband Tony, Christopher Box and wife Katie, Michael Bryant and wife Jess, Dustin Smith, Brianna Smith, Daniel Bryant, Cody Smith, and Chase Rutledge. Also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Bradley V. Smith; her grandson Matthew Box; her sister Betty Tyler and brother, William VanSickle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 11 am. Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery. Friends may visit on Thursday, 4 to 7.
