Scott Matthew Batzel, 47, of White Mills, died on Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home.

Born on November 23, 1971 in Port Jervis, NY, he is the son of Dolores Bidwell Batzel of Waymart and the late Charles K. Batzel.

Scott was employed at Camp Moshava where he worked in maintenance.  He was able to do it all whether it be plumbing or tinkering around on an old car to get it running.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the White Mills Fire Department.  Scott loved being a grandfather and was very proud of his boys.

In addition to his mother, Scott is survived by his sons Matthew Batzel of Ridgeway, PA and Brett Batzel of Damascus; step-daughter Amanda Batzel of Honesdale; step-son David Batzel of New Brunswick, NJ; his brothers Kenneth Batzel and wife Cindy of Honesdale, Mike Batzel and wife Marissa of Honesdale and Max Batzel of Prompton; his sisters Wanda Smith of St. Clair, PA and Kolleen Boots of White Mills; his great friend Ronnie Bollock; several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Batzel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale by Pastor Bill Rushik of the Free Methodist Church of South Canann.  Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery.  Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, 11 until the time of service.
