Obituaries » Ruth L. Richter (Bishop) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Ruth Louise Richter, 94, of Honesdale, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at her home. Born on March 30, 1927 in Honesdale, she is the last surviving member of the Tracy D. and Eleanor (Rickert) Bishop family. She began working at Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed bowling, playing in several local leagues and most recently enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Enterprise Grange in Torrey. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Smith Hill Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons John Richter of Portland, OR, Michael Richter and wife Barbara, David Richter and wife Diane all of Honesdale, Jeffrey Richter and wife Susan of Waymart and Daniel Richter of Honesdale; grandchildren Tracie Groves, Kimberly Richter, Eric Richter, Kyle Richter, Maggie Jaramillo, Alex Richter, Jessica Richter, Kelly Richter and Abbey Neenan; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was married to Rudolph Richter. She was preceded in death by her sisters Reba Dein and Lois Mullen. As per her request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family.
