Ruth E. Seland (Kull)

Ruth E. Seland, 90, of White Mills, died on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Seland, Sr. on December 17, 2002. The couple married on January 20, 1947.

Born on July 27, 1930 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Kull and a graduate of Bloomfield High School.

For many years, she and her family lived at Bunnell’s Pond in Honesdale. She was a loving mother and housewife who enjoyed making waffles for her friends. She was an active member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in White Mills where she sang in the choir. She was currently a member of Queen of Peace Parish in Hawley. Ruth was also a member the Catholic Daughters of the America’s.

Surviving is her son William R. Seland, Jr. of White Mills; her niece and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lizbeth A. Seland and her sister Joan Cummings.

Ruth’s family would like to offer a special thank you for Wayne Memorial Hospital Outpatient Infusion Unit for their kind and compassionate care over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 25ht at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday, 2 to 4. All attending are required to wear a mask and are asked to be brief when paying your respects to maintain social distancing.
