DeGroat Burial Date October 10, 2024 Funeral Home Hessling Funeral Home Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Roger John DeGroat, born February 26, 1955, Middletown, NY to the late Glenn T. DeGroat and Iona Irene Tyler, passed away peacefully at his residence in Beach Lake, PA on October 1, 2024. Roger was a graduate of West Morris Regional High School, Chester, NJ. He had studied Land Surveying at Rutgers University and was employed in the field of Engineering and Land Surveying from 1973-1979 before pursuing a career in mechanical repair and maintenance. He was employed as a supervisor for Mitsubishi Kagaku Imaging, Corporation, Hackettstown, NJ from 1990 until its closure in 2011. Roger was an automobile enthusiast along with being an avid motorcyclist with memberships in the National Nomad Club car club, the Harley Owners Group and the Lost Riders Motorcycle Club, attending events in Daytona, FL and Sturgis, SD. He was also active in the various hereditary societies: New Jersey Society of the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America, Society of the War of 1812 in the State of New Jersey, Col. John Rosenkrans Chapter of the New Jersey Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Roger is survived by his son Cory A. DeGroat and granddaughter Brooklyn O. DeGroat Memorial services will be held at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA. with a viewing on Monday October 7th from 4pm to 7pm. Interment is scheduled for 11:00am Thursday October 10th 2024 at the Milanville Cemetery, Milanville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Col.
