Doherty, 58, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Allied Hospice Center in Scranton. He is survived by his companion, Lida Kiefer. He was born on May 3, 1966 in Dover, NJ, son of the late William Frank Doherty and Erin (Dean) Geer. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1985. Bob worked at Clarks Summit State Hospital in environmental services and was a tow truck driver for Paul’s Towing. He was a former volunteer at Lake Ariel and Waymart Fire Departments. An outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed fishing and riding his 4-wheelers. In addition to Lida, he is survived by his son, Bryce Doherty of Waymart; his daughter, Olivia Doherty and companion Stephanie Eigenbrodg of Honesdale; his sisters, Laura Beard and husband Robert of Quarryville, PA and Sharon Wilson and husband Mark of Livermore, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Martin Geer. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 16th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 2 pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, 12 until the time of service. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale.
