McDevitt Burial Date October 11, 2024 Funeral Home Hessling Funeral Home Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Robert Michael McDevitt, 35, of Rowland, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 5, 1989 in Honesdale, son of Jeanne Young (and husband John) of Rowland and Robert P. McDevitt (and wife Peggy) of Tafton. Rob was a homeschool graduate. He was employed at Rack’em Manufacturing in Hawley. Rob was a master craftsman who enjoyed woodworking. Above all else, Rob loved his son, Matthew. Together, they enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated everything nature had to offer. Many days, he and Matthew could be found kayaking or fishing. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Matthew McDevitt; his siblings, Sharon Maus (and husband, Steve) of AZ, Emily DaSilva (and husband, Romulo) of Rowland, Brian McDevitt (and fiancé, Catie) of Carbondale, Colleen Castillo (and husband, Luis) of Willow Grove, Laura Steich (and husband, Cody) of Waymart, Tyler Sincavage of Tafton, Stacey Smith (and husband, Jordan) of Honesdale, and Stephanie Sincavage (and partner, Damien) of Virginia. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Frances McDevitt of AZ, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at noon. Friends may visit on Friday, 10 am until the time of service.
