Obituaries » Robert A. Coons Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Robert A. Coons, 65, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home. Born on December 30, 1948, in Honesdale, he was the son of Rose S. Slish Coons of Honesdale and the late Robert E. Coons. He was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School, class of 1966 and later attended Bloomsburg University studying accounting. Bob worked at the former Katz Underwear Factory in Honesdale and retired from Weis Supermarket in Honesdale. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a life member at the Cherry Ridge Fishing Club. He was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his god daughter, Amy Lynn Slish Johannes and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 30th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Monday from 5 to 7.
