Regina P. Beardsley, RN, 94, of White Mills, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY.

She was born on September 14, 1927 in White Mills, the daughter of the late Eugene and Dove (Buckingham) Beardsley. She graduated from Hawley High School and joined the U.S. Cadet Corp. at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, where she continued employment for 44 1/2 years and retired in 1990.

Upon retiring she returned to the Beardsley homestead in White Mills where she joined the White Mills United Methodist Women’s Society and became active in their missions work. She also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

Regina enjoyed annual vacations spent touring the United States and Canada by car. She took a great interest in collecting elephant figurines. A dedicated supporter of animal societies, she had for many years a faithful doggy at home with her. She could be found frequently watching her favorite baseball team, the Mets, whether they won or lost. Her love of birds meant there was an abundant supply of food in the feeders from September until May.

Surviving is her niece Penny Watson and husband Ken of Missouri and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dora Beardsley Bates Bader and her husband James Bader, her niece Nora Lea Arnold.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 17th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 11 am. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 10 until the time of service. Private interment will be in Green Gates Cemetery.
