Raymond J. Kenyon, 87, of Equinunk, died on March 6, 2020 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Juanita Vargas. The couple married in September 21, 2002.

Born on February 8, 1933 in Franklin, NY, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Mabel Stone Kenyon.

Ray began his career in construction and later owned and operated a blue stone quarry. Before retiring, he worked with Ray LaBar at the sawmill.

In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering around his house and fixing things. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Most of all, Ray loved his family and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Deborah Kanter and husband Robert of Richlandtown, PA, Raymond Kenyon Jr., Timothy Kenyon and David Kenyon and wife Dawn Macey all of Equinunk; step-children Linda Torres Evans and husband William of Beach Lake, Susanne Ramirez and husband Edualdo, Sandra Rodriguez and husband Mike Palmer all of New York and Ian Walters and wife Laurel of Beach Lake; his brother James Kenyon and wife Susan of Kentucky. Also surviving are his sisters Ethel Chowinski of Beach Lake and Gladys LaBar of Equinunk; his grandchildren Julianna and husband Justin, Olivia, Timothy and wife Sabrina, Karlee and Evan; great grandchildren Rosalee, Caroline, Jocelyn and Mason Ray; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores Abarientos Kenyon and grandson Jared Kenyon. He was also preceded by his 5 siblings.

As per his request, cremation will be held and a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
