Peter H. Ward

Peter H. Ward, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, the former Wendy Mongovan. The couple married on January 4, 2003.

Born on November 5, 1952, he was the son of the late John and Joan Ward.

Peter had a love of cooking and photography . If there was a car show, a dance recital, a show at The Cooperage or just an event, you could be sure Peter was in the crowd grasping great shots and sharing those memorable shots with the public.

Peter is survived by his step-daughter, Sierra Lord and husband, Wyatt Davis; brothers, John Ward and wife Tania and Joseph Ward and wife Winnie all of California; sisters, Joan Rake of Tyler Hill, PA and Ann DeVrieze and husband Michael of Milanville, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his sister Irene Ward; brother-in-law Alan Rake and a niece, Kerrie-Jo White.

Peter’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Regional Hospital of Scranton for the care and kindness during his stay.

As per his request, cremation will be held and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
