Margaret (Peggy) Washington, 72, formerly of Liberty, NY and Honesdale, PA, died
Monday, January 16, 2017 in of Fort Myers, FL where she had recently resided with her
husband Robert.
Born July 20, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Grace Golden
O’Neill. Peggy was a licensed nurse for many years, having received her training in
Rochester, NY. She worked at health facilities in the Catskills and was deeply devoted
to her children and grandchildren. Peggy’s family was her world, and she was theirs.
Surviving are her husband, Robert, her son Edward and daughter-in-law Mandy of
Florida and daughter Colleen and son-in-law Tony Lesczynski of Liberty, NY; and four
grandsons, including Corey, Matthew, Tyler and Jack Washington. Peggy was predeceased
by a brother Jack O’Neill and is survived by sisters Kathleen Fives and Mary
Shepstone of Honesdale, PA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18th at St, John the
Evangelist RC Church in Honesdale, at 11 am, where she was both baptized and married.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
