Oates, Jr., 73, a resident at Creekside Health and Rehab Center in Carbondale, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Born on June 3, 1942 in Middletown, NY, he was the son of the late Paul M. Sr. and Marianna Comfort Oates. At a young age, Paul began working on dairy farms. He continued working at several farms in the Middletown area and retired from Dean Ford and Sons in Westown, NY. Paul will be remembered for his hard work ethic and a man who loved his family. Surviving are his daughters Theresa Rolston and husband Roy of Tyler Hill, PA, Paula Hadden of Walker Valley, NY, and Jean Marie Oates of Louisiana; his son Ken Stinson of Walker Valley, NY; his brothers Roy Oates and wife Terry of Bloomingburg, NY, William Oates Sr. and companion Brenda of Walker Valley, NY and Joseph Oates and companion Betty of Middletown, NY; his aunt Shirley Gillen of Middletown, NY; grandchildren Lucas and Zachary Hadden and Matthew Stinson; nieces, nephews and cousins. As per his request, cremation will be held and a memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA.
