Paul C Gombita Sr., 61, of Honesdale, died peacefully at home Sunday December 7th, 2014. Paul was the only child of the late Paul A. Gombita, Simpson, and the late Helen Gombita (formerly Zelonis), Honesdale. He was born September 1st, 1953 at the Women’s Hospital in Scranton. Paul leaves behind his wife of 38 years Carol A. Gombita of Honesdale. Two children, son, Paul C Gombita Jr. and his long time girlfriend, Doreen Budd and a daughter Trisha L Gombita – Davis and her husband Jefferson Davis, all of Honesdale. He has 5 beautiful grandchildren, Zoey, Brock, and Bella Gombita, Cheyanne and Xander Davis. A mother in law Patricia Tuttle her husband Larry, Honesdale, sister in law Penny Adams her husband Karl, Tyler Hill, and his late brother in law George Fawcett, niece and nephews Katie and Michael Marienschek and Robert Fawcett. Also long time family/friend Kenneth Perry Sr., Honesdale. Paul was inspired by his late Uncle Edward T. Zelonis to run the family dairy farm on the home front property. That is how he became to love the great outdoors. He had great knowledge of trees and his local surroundings. Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter. He greatly enjoyed going deep sea fishing when he could. He also really enjoyed his demolition derbies. Either running in them for 8 years or going to watch others in them at the local fairs. The viewing hours will be Saturday December 13th, 2014 from 10-12 pm at Hessling’s Funeral Homes at 428 Main Street Honesdale. In lieu of flowers a funeral fund has been set up at Honesdale National Bank, Paul Gombita Sr Funeral Fund.
