OBITUARIES
Obituaries » Paul E. Mang Share your Memorial with Family & Friends It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Paul Edward Mang. After a courageous race and battle with cancer, he’s now at peace. He gave it everything he had, enduring each step with strength, humor, and unwavering love. Though we’re left with the ache of his absence, we take comfort knowing he has finished the race on his own terms, leaving us with countless memories to carry forward. The race isn’t over for us — we will keep moving, but always with his spirit guiding us. Paul was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many! He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit that will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Born on July 15, 1953, Paul was the son of the late Edward and Gladys Mang. He was a proud resident of Honesdale and dedicated much of his life to serving and supporting his hometown. Paul’s deep love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He married his wife of 48 years, Susan Boyle Mang, on February 28th,1976. He is also survived by his little girl Lindsey and her husband Tim Pender, best buds and grandsons Owen and Keegan Pender, loving lab Gracie, and Scott Mang, Andrea Nakielny, and their families. Paul also cherished the many memories with his friends and guys that he worked with throughout the years…his face would light up whenever he spoke of them and many of them became a part of his family. Paul’s love for the outdoors was one of the many things that defined him. Whether it was fishing at his favorite spot with Owen and Keegan, working on the trails at Prompton, or simply enjoying a quiet evening on his porch, Paul found peace and joy in the natural beauty surrounding Honesdale. Paul and Sue were partners in Northeast Sports on Main Street for many years. From selling sneakers to high school athletes, working with coaches, and partnering with the local camps and guiding outdoor adventure trips, he touched the lives of many. He was a steadfast supporter of local youth sports, where he cheered for and mentored countless young people. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him. The past couple of years, Paul’s faith deepened and he shared that in his work at Little Creek Recovery where he was able to have his life changed by the young men he spent countless hours with enjoying the outdoors. He attended Grace Ridge Church and during this fight knew that…My salvation and my honor depend on God, he is my mighty rock, my refuge (Psalms 62:7). A Celebration of Life for our husband, dad, pop, friend, mentor and more will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 6th & River in Honesdale. Friends are asked to gather, share stories, and laugh from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. with a service/celebration taking place at 5:00, officiated by Pastor Michael Lyle of Grace Ridge Church. Family and friends are asked to dress casual and come as you are. Now you know Paul wasn’t a flower guy, but he loved the great outdoors and our local athletic teams! To continue to support these passions, donations can be made to… Finally, a thank you to all of Paul’s doctors, nurses, and hospice staff at Wayne Memorial and his team at Hershey Medical Center. We are in awe of the kindness and support from this community, those that have helped put together a celebration that will truly reflect who Paul was and what he loved…his family, his friends, his guys, the river, and his hometown! Friends…Paul’s work here may be over but we ask that you follow in his footsteps…lead with love and live a life that changes the lives of others!
