Patricia Ann Peterson, 79, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur W. Peterson Jr. on January 11, 2013. The couple married on January 30, 1961.

Born on October 3, 1941 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Grace (Maher) Ryan.

In 2005, Pat retired from Fleet Bank at Montage Mountain.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Pat enjoyed having her family together for dinner every Sunday night. She also enjoyed shopping, reading and collecting tea cups. She loved the spirit of the Christmas season. Pat appreciated the friendships she made at Stourbridge Square Apartments who became family to her. A faithful person, she attended Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale and looked forward to Bible study.

Pat was admired by her family and friends for the way she handled her illness with such grace. She continued to love her family and kept her sense of humor putting all who loved her at ease.

Surviving are her children, Wilbur W. Peterson III and wife Kim of Lake Ariel, Suzanne Brussell and companion Jeff Hoffman of Hawley, Ellen Peterson Horveath and husband Stephen of Honesdale and Bethann McCartney and husband Robert of Browndale; her cousin Colleen Perez of SC; grandchildren Patricia Jordan, Jacqueline Cole, Joseph Jordan, Sean Brussell, Miranda McCartney, Wilbur Peterson IV and Alexis Sinova; a great grandchild Chase Hanichak and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Grace Jordan and her husband Joseph Jordan.

The family would like to thank Charlene Whitmore and the entire WMH Home Health and Hospice team for their care and Father Edward Erb for his spiritual guidance and friendship.

Due to the ongoing pandemic a celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
