Obituaries » Norma J. Rickert (DeReamer) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Norma Jeanne Rickert, 97, of Honesdale, died on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard G. Rickert on August 1, 2004. The couple married on November 1, 1947. Born on January 10, 1927 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Watson) DeReamer. A loving housewife and mother, she was a faithful member of the White Mills Methodist Church. She was a former member of the White Mills Fire Department Auxiliary. Norma enjoyed embroidery, playing Yahtzee and games on her computer. She enjoyed traveling around the neighborhood on her Gator visiting friends and family. Surviving are her sons, Charles Rickert and wife Diane of Ninety-Six, SC, Joseph Rickert of Hawley and James Rickert and husband Robert of Waymart; her daughters, Carol Ann Davis and Jean Rickert, both of Honesdale; nieces, Nancy Firmstone and Joan Alexander; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel and Bernard A. Rickert; her sisters, Marjorie Firmstone and Charlotte James; her son-in-law, Carl Davis; daughter-in-law, Florence Rickert. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20th at the White Mills United Methodist Church at 11 am.
