Mildred Ethel Pender, 91, of Honesdale, died on December 23, 2021 at Ellen Memorial. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald T. Pender, Sr., who died on November 23, 2005. The couple married on July 22, 1950.

Born on March 24, 1930 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ethel (Hurt) Bodick. She was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School, class of 1948.

Millie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.

Surviving is her children, Donald T. Pender Jr. and wife Margaret, Kevin J. Pender and wife Debra all of Honesdale and Nancy LaTournous and husband James of Holiday, FL; grandchildren, Karli Cohn and husband Steve of Orlando, FL, Mary Ursich of Honesdale, Emily Jackson and husband William of Ridgely, WV, Martha LaTournous of Barefoot, FL, Thomas Pender and wife Colleen of Scranton, Timothy Pender and wife Lindsey of Honesdale. Donald T. Pender, III and wife Anita of Mason, OH, Christine Brink and husband Gary of Honesdale and Rebecca Pender of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren, Alicia Jackson Speis, Tyler, Brenna, Reed and Augustus Jackson; Cassie Ursich, Owen and Keegan Pender, Jai, Rajan and Kiran Pender, Jack, Eli and Max Cohn, Noah and Arlo Pender; Hayden, Brielle and Carter Brink. Also surviving is her sisters-in-law, Mary Borosky and Marianne Para; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Bodick.

Mildred’s family would like to thank Dr. William Dewar, nurses and staff at Ellen Memorial for their care and Rev. William Langan for his visits and pastoral care.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of her family. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
