Kane Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Michael Joseph Kane, 77, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest from injuries received during a fire. His family was by his side. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Nora A. McCabe. The couple married on March 17, 1973. Born on August 16, 1947 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Michael S. and Frances (Sweeney) Kane. He was a graduate from Monsignor Bonner High School and later attended St. Joseph’s University. He then joined the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he began working for AT&T in Wayne, PA. He and his family were later transfered to Carmel Valley, CA before settling back in the Honesdale area and working at the AT&T satelite station in Greeley. He retired in 2017. Mike was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish attending St. Bernard’s Church in Beach Lake. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed rooting for the Flyers and Eagles. He enjoyed trains and looked forward to the Christmas season to put out his Lionel trains. Most of all, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lauren Kane and companion, Keith Colombo of Beach Lake; his son, Sean Kane of Beach Lake; his sisters, Maryann Scanlon of Clayton, CA, Frances Klein of Rehoboth, DE and Eileen Kane of Glen Mills, PA; his grandchildren, Amelia, Finn and Jack Michko; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Rogowski and his brother, John Kane. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.
