He was the youngest of three children, Leon, brother and eldest, and sister Irene. He met the love of his life, Lucia Maiorano, when he returned from WWII as a decorated Army paratrooper. They were married in 1951 and had 4 children, John, Michael, Debra (son -in law Sidney) and Lisa. Mike was a great father, provider and friend to his children. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren (Maria, John, Peter, Michael and Matthew) and 2 great-granddaughters (Willow & Hazel). Michael had a love for corny humor, life, children, animals and the beauty in nature. His immortality is the legacy of love he leaves behind. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at noon.
