Michael B. Roloson

Michael B. Roloson, of Equinunk, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Michael was born on April 18, 1963, in Callicoon, New York, to Wilma (Hubert) Roloson and Berton Roloson. He married the love of his life, Dawn (Kenyon) Roloson, in Equinunk in 1983, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and love.

Mike was a heavy equipment operator who owned and operated his excavation business alongside his son until he was no longer able. He was a hardworking, caring man who often said he “never worked a day in his life,” because when you’re doing what you love, it isn’t work. As his mother fondly said, “Mike started playing in the dirt when he was 2 years old, and he just never stopped.”

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn; his mother, Wilma Roloson; and his father, Berton Roloson and his wife Heather, all of Equinunk. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne, Bert, Ben, Katie, Connie, Heidi, and Holly.

Mike’s greatest pride was his family. He loved talking about his children and grandchildren to anyone who would listen and was a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Danielle Menotti and Chris Seidel; Jessica Theis and her husband, Cory; and Michael L. Roloson and his wife, Meagan.

While he loved his children deeply, his grandchildren were truly the light of his life. He will forever watch over Emma, Maya, Madison, Adore, Ava, Morgan, Ryder, Molly, Harper, and Alex. His love extended beyond his immediate family, as he served as a mentor and father figure to many throughout the years. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Maisy and Tuffy, who truly believed they were his human children.

Mike is also survived by his lifelong friend and father figure, Gibson McKean, who had been a constant presence in his life since Mike was a teenager. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his sister, Karen Roloson Schwab, and his beloved son-in-law, Adore Menotti, whom he loved as his own and missed beyond words. Mike often joked that when he saw Adore again in Heaven, he was “going to kick his ass”-a sentiment that those who knew their bond will understand brought a smile through the tears.

Mike will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering work ethic, quick wit, generous spirit, and the unconditional love he gave to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the family he cherished above all else. Though he will be deeply missed, his love and strength will remain with those who knew and loved him forever. Casual is attire encouraged during services.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17th, at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 7 pm by Pastor Michele Galloway. Friends may visit on Friday, 4 until the time of service. Cremation will follow. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 26th at the Lookout Fire Hall at 2 o’clock.
