Maureen Bridget Campo, 64, of Honesdale and formerly of Queens, NY died on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY. She is survived by her husband, James E. Campo.

Born on December 8, 1952 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget Dennehy Downey.

Maureen retired from the New York Transit Authority after 29. Her last job at Transit was at Station Command as a superintendent.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Maureen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting miniatures and dolls, crocheting and knitting and traveling.

Also surviving is her son Sean McAdams and wife Christine of Honesdale; her step-daughter Nicole Johnston and husband Adam of Murfreesboro, TN; her brothers John Downey and wife Karen, Jeremiah Downey and wife Eileen, Joseph Downey and wife Helen, James Downey and wife Patricia; her sisters Eileen Downey, Theresa Downey and partner Ginny Martinez, Kathy Devine and husband William, Bridget Horan and husband Andrew and Patricia Livingston and husband Christopher; her grandchildren Andrew James McAdams, Gianna Paige McAdams, Tyler Johnston and Brianna Johnston; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 9th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10am. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 – 9. A private viewing will be held Monday for her family.
