Mary L. Carney, 83, of Honesdale, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander L. Carney on April 7, 1996.

Born on September 26, 1931 in York, PA, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the Horace and Mary Stine Weisensale family.

A housewife and mother, Mary also cleaned homes and a doctors office and retired as a school crossing guard for the Stourbridge School. Mary was a dedicated member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Honesdale.

Mary also enjoyed spending time with family having dinners and picnics.

Surviving are her sons David Weisensale and wife Susan of Waymart, James Carney and wife Beth of Honesdale and Robert Carney and wife Laurie of Beach Lake; her grandchildren Angela Barnes, Robin Dunn, William, Travis and Aaron Carney; great grandchildren Kyle, April, and Nolan Carney, Shyanna Stoddard, Shane and Shaylnn Dunn; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Horace Jr., Charlie, Wilbur, Kenneth and Lester Weisensale and sisters Thelma Winemiller and Doris Sharp.

As per her request, cremation will be held. A memorial service will be held at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Honesdale at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
