Ryan Burial Date May 15, 2026 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Martin H. “Marty” Ryan, 78, of Waymart, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. Marty was born on May 29, 1947 in Carbondale, the son of the late Harry M. and Lois (McCann) Ryan. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale and later served in the US Army. He began his career working at Triangle Shoes in Honesdale and Liberty, NY. He later worked for Shoe Fair before owning and operating Marty’s Sneaker World and continued working until recently becoming ill. A fixture on Main Street in Honesdale, he enjoyed seeing his customers and having spirited conversations, usually revolving around sports. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and was looking forward to the upcoming seasons. Marty left an impact on all those who knew him and will be remembered for being a caring man with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his many friends and neighbors. A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale on Friday, May 15th at 10 am.
