Marjorie Mary (Holl) Miller, 93, of Denver, NC and formerly of Honesdale and Plainfield, NJ died on January 10, 2013 at the Wexford House in Denver, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren E.T. Miller on April 15, 1989. Born on June 15, 1920 in Honesdale, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the Edward J. and Catherine E. Sonner Holl family. She was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School and attended St. Mary Magdalen Church while growing up in Honesdale. Marjorie met her future husband Warren in Plainfield, NJ and following her marriage, she worked as a beautician at Eddie’s Beauty Shop in Elizabeth, NJ. After raising her family, she worked at Bell Telephone Labs in Murray Hill, NJ and retired after 15 years of employment. She and her husband retired to Sebastian, FL and resided there until 2008 when she moved to Denver to be closer to family. While residing in Plainfield, she was a member of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening. Surviving is her son Alexander Miller and wife Mary of Denver, NC; daughters Nancy Terry and husband Donald of Island Heights, NJ and Karen Fox and husband Robert of Denver, NC; 4 grandchildren Damon and Colin Terry and Matthew and Courtney Fox; step-grandchildren Janie Turner and husband Wayne, Donna Sattchi and husband Saadi and Vernon (Buddy) Morin and wife Judy; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters Bertha Theobald, Jean Schroppe and Clarice “Mickey” Acker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 16th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday from 4 to 7.
