Marjorie L. Dauchert (Van Dyke)

Marjorie “Margie” L. Dauchert, 89, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terre L. Dauchert on July 20, 2000.

Born on September 1, 1935 in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of Fred and Ethel Mae (Rand) Van Dyke. Margie and Terre resided at Lake Wanoka which she loved.

For over 45 years, Margie was a manager and traveled the country working for Tupperware. She also worked for the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and was a lecturer for Weight Watchers. She enjoyed being active and appreciated the friendships she made over her career.

Margie was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at the Wayne County Library. At the Wayne County Area on Aging, she took delight in playing Rummikub with her friends. She attended Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale and Hawley United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Barbara Goodman and husband Robert of Hawley; her step-grandchildren, Marci Goodman, Krista Bott and husband Mike and Kyle Schoebel; great grandchildren, Jaxon and Mia Bott. She is also survived by her longtime friend, Chris Giles, who has been very supportive in recent months.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Dauchert and his wife, Laurie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at noon. Friends may visit on Friday, 4 to 7 and Saturday, 11 until the time of service.

Interment will be in Darling Cemetery in the spring.
