Garrett, 94, of Honesdale, died on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Creekside Health and Rehab Center in Carbondale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Garrett on December 9, 2008. The couple married on July 2, 1949. Born on November 30, 1920 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Florence H. Johannes Belknap. Marie worked at the former Amber Lingerie and Banner Slipper Company. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale, attending St. Mary Magdalen Church. She is survived by her brother, Bernard Belknap and wife Veramae of Honesdale; her niece and caregiver, Debra Temperton and husband Barry of Honesdale; several nieces and nephews. Marie’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Mallard Meadows and Creekside Health and Rehab Center for their exceptional care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 25th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday, 9 to 9:30.
