Linda Ann Vogt, 70 of Honesdale, died on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Bethany Village where she was residing. Born on March 12, 1947 in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Rita Mary Clark Vogt. Linda was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School, class of 1965. She later received her bachelors degree from Marywood University.

Linda was a long time caseworker for Wayne County, first with Children and Youth and then with Area Agency of the Aging. Linda will be remembered as a kind soul, with a sincere desire to help others. Her infectious smile was her calling card. Linda touched many lives in her work with the county. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Linda was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Parish of Honesdale. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bethany Village, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and love during Linda’s stay.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her close cousins and caregivers, James Murray and Maureen Pykus, both of Honesdale. Her godchildren Kathleen Vasquez and Timothy Olver and numerous cousins.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling’s Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Honesdale from 9:00 to 10:00AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or a charity of your choice.
