Lewis F. Corcoran, Jr., 78, of Honesdale, died on Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Kathryn E. Perry. The couple married on July 20, 1957.

Born on October 16, 1937 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Dorothy Woosnam Corcoran. He was a graduate of Damascus High School and later served in the US Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958.

For 30 years, he owned and operated the Moscow Agway before retiring. While his children were growing up, he coached the Elks in the Honesdale Little League and later the F&M Bucks baseball teams. Lew also enjoyed bowling and was active in many leagues. Following his retirement, he became and avid golfer.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and participated in the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 363 in Honesdale.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Michael, James and wife June, Thomas and Timothy Corcoran all of Honesdale; his daughter Kristina Rinde and husband Matthew of State College, PA; a brother Bill Corcoran and wife Jean of Honesdale; sisters Dorothy Lane of Elkton, VA and Ann Black and husband Bill of Taylor, PA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Bortree and his brothers Frank and Joseph Corcoran.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 20th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10am. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, 4 to 7. All visitors are asked to use the 5th Street entrance. As per his request, cremation will follow with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale.
