Leslie John Thomas, 75, of Prompton passed away on Friday in Geisinger CMC. Born August 9th, 1940 in Honesdale, PA to Franklyn W. Thomas and Isabelle Evelyn Cook.

He joined the Marine Corp for 4 years. Les was employed for 40+ years at Moore’s Business Forms where he was a press operator.

Les had a passion for racing. He was well known for his love of Super Modified race cars and went to every race he could at Oswego Speedway and many other racetracks. Les was very proud of his son, Wayne, a retired Air Force veteran. He was proud of all that Wayne accomplished in his life.

One of his favorite things to do was pick on everybody but especially his minwe.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Thomas; son, Wayne Thomas and wife, Dana from South Carolina; Stepson, Rob and wife, Cindy of Prompton; Stepdaughter, Jane Gehringer and husband, Fred of White Hall, Pa; Stepdaughter, Tammy Ohl and husband, John; Brother, Bill Joseph and sister Nancy Joseph. Also several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In leui of flowers, please contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation is from 7:00-9:00 on Wednesday, October 21st at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA with a get together at Jake’s Tavern immediately following.
