Ennis, 64, of Pleasant Mount, passed away at home on December 19, 2024 after a valiant four year battle with MDS. Born in West Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late James and Arline (Lind) Ennis. Kevin was a graduate of Mountain High School in West Orange NJ. He attained a degree in Bio Med Tech from Johnson College. Kevin worked in several areas of Wayne County and most recently, as a driver and dispatcher for Wayne County Transportation before retiring. Kevin visited Wayne County since the age of 12 and moved here permanently in 1989. An outdoor man who loved hunting, Kevin was a member of the Ponderosa Hunting Club in Pleasant Mount. He was happiest when sharing that passion with family and friends. Kevin is survived by his wife of 34 years, Margaret (Hnatko), his daughter, Elizabeth Ennis and his son, Collin Ennis, both of Pleasant Mount; his brother, Brian Ennis and his wife, Amy of Whippany, NJ; his dear friends of 60 years, Vincent and Gail Nanerone; his mother in law, Margaret Hnatko; many cousins, nieces and nephews. The Ennis family would like to thank his team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC for their dedicated care and attention to Kevin and especially, our friends, neighbors, church community, and co workers for the many ways they supported Kevin and all of us. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 10:00am at St. James Church in Pleasant Mount. Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, on Friday, December 27th from 4pm-7pm. The beauty of nature and the love of the outdoors in Wayne County drew Kevin here 35 years ago.
