Kathryn Ann Billard, 88, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F. Billard on November 12, 2012. The couple married on November 26, 1952.

Born on March 1, 1933 at the family home in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Bertha E. (Holl) Theobald. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1951.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ann worked for 33 years in the cafeteria for Wayne Highlands School District before retiring. For 22 years, she also worked at Camp Bryn Mawr during the summers. She continued working with her husband, running the family farm. When her husband became ill, she became his loving caregiver at home.

Ann was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.

Surviving are her sons, James Billard and wife Linda and Thomas Billard and wife Shawn all of Honesdale; daughters, Susan Wilmot of FL, Nancy Ellis and JoAnn Bates and husband Kenneth all of Honesdale; her foster-daughter, Wanda Smith of Lancaster; her brother William Theobald and wife Mary of Honesdale; sisters, Doris Rogers and Marie “Honey” Fritz all of Honesdale; grandchildren, Shaun Wilmot, Michael, Sarah and Christopher Ellis, Stephanie Stall, Troy Billard, Jonathon and Kathryn Bates, Jacquelyn, Nicole and Allison Billard; great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jacklyn Gager, Bryan and Kyliegh Ellis and Weston Meszler; foster granddaughter, Miranda Smith; foster great grandchildren Jordan and Abbie Smith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Theobald and foster grandchild, Kyle Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, December 30th at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale at 10 am. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Parish, 414 Church St. Honesdale, PA 18431.
