Karen J. Hazen, 60, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Hazen on January 7, 2009.

Born on October 3, 1962 in Sidney, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion (Ballard) Macumber/Parker. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Edwin Parker.

Karen worked as a caregiver at Ellen Memorial in Honesdale and recently at Caregivers of America before becoming ill.

Karen enjoyed taking trips with her husband Albert while he drove truck. She also enjoyed ceramics, demolition derbies, her flower gardens and butterflies. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Shaun Rieman and wife Amy of Honesdale, Ken Wormuth and wife Katrina of Lakewood and Matthew Macumber of Edenton, NC; her daughter, Jessica Miller of Apalachin, NY; step-daughters, Natasha Hazen and Denise Ellis of Binghamton, NY; her companion, Gerald Wood of Prompton; brothers, Robert Macumber and wife Jane of Deposit, NY, Leon Macumber and wife Dorothy of Nichols, NY, Donald Macumber and wife Faye of Point Harbor, NC, Douglas Macumber of Nichols, NY and George Macumber of Windsor, NY; her sister, Linda Rieman and husband Russ of Preston Park; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, June 1st at 2pm. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 12 until the time of service. Cremation will follow.
