Judith M. Tallman Freethy Rimlinger, 77, of Hawley, died on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Henry “Hank” Rimlinger. The couple married on December 2, 1989. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul C. Freethy in 1988.

Born on April 15, 1938 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Kathryn Hosey Tallman. After graduating from Honesdale High School, she was employed at Bell Telephone in Honesdale. After she and Paul were married, they moved to New York and worked at US Trust Co. on Wall Street. Later they returned to Hawley and bought Riverdale Motel and opened P.J.’s Garden Center.

Judy was a 20 year member and treasurer of the Wayne-Pike Chapter for Human Life. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and a member of the former St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in White Mills. She was also an active member of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel in Honesdale.

Also surviving are her sons Eric Freethy and wife Brenda of Honesdale, Bruce Freethy and Jason Freethy and wife Dana, all of Hawley; step-sons Daniel Rimlinger and wife Lisa of Buckeye, AZ and Tim Rimlinger and wife Kim of Collegeville, PA; her sister Kathryn Babyak and husband John of White Mills; grandchildren Dustin, Natasha, Nicholas, Scott, Michael, Lydia and Nathan Freethy; step-grandchildren Nikki and Darren Rimlinger; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Karl Freethy and brothers Raymond and John Tallman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 1st at St. John the Evangelist Church, Honesdale at 11 am. Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday, 4 to 7.

Memorial contributions can be made to Pennsylvanians for Human Life, Scranton Chapter, 506 Broadway, Scranton, PA 18505.
