Joseph James Scudillo, 62, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 2, 1959, in Honesdale, he is the son of Joyce Ann (Crist) Scudillo of Honesdale and the late Joseph Lewis Scudillo. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1978. Later in life he received a ministry certificate from Christian Faith Colleges.

Joe was a man of great faith. He was a member of Wallenpaupack Church where he served as a greeter. He also attended St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Honesdale. He took great interest in the Bible and was a member of several Bible study groups. His faith led him to want to help others. When his health allowed, he would write letters to inmates and enjoyed assisting the Salvation Army ringing the bell during the Christmas holiday.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother Kurt W. Scudillo of Honesdale; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 8th at Wallenpaupack Church at 2 pm. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Window Fund or Wallenpaupack Church.
