Joseph Edmund Krempasky, 92, of Honesdale, died on Friday, October 23, 2020 at his home.

Born on November 16, 1927 in Jessup, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew Joseph and Victoria Rose (Buzawa) Krempasky. Joe was proud of his valley roots and the work his father did in the coal mines.

At a young age, Joe learned the value of hard work, taking over the family dairy farm following the death of his father. He later found joy working with machinery becoming an excavating contractor and a machine dealer for Ford. He also became an industrial machine dealer and during this time became well respected in the auction community. A successful entrepreneur among many venues, he also owned an aggregate business and several restaurants and pubs.

Joe enjoyed working and until recently taking ill, was happiest jumping on an excavator or tractor to work on a project.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in White Mills.

Surviving is his son Joseph A. Krempasky and wife Amy; his daughter Darlene Kowalczyk and husband Randy; his long time companion Judy Giblin; her children Jeffrey and Ron Giblin and Debbie Henderson and husband Jeff all of Honesdale; his sister Ann Sak; grandchildren Kate, Brita and Benjamin Krempasky and Lucas, Randijo, Max and Christian Kowalczyk.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Janice Rovinski and Elizabeth Jane Krempasky; his sisters Helen Ziats, Mary Buddinger, Emily Richter and Margaret Syrylo; his brothers Martin and Andrew Krempasky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28th at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Face masks are required and social distancing protocols will be followed. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Parish, 414 Church St. Honesdale, PA 18431 or Grace Episcopal Church, 827 Church St. Honesdale, PA 18431. Please note Discretionary Fund in the memo so funds can be used to feed those in need.
