John Nathan Fotusky, 72, of White Mills, died on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Carbondale Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Maryann Herold. The couple married on March 24, 1964.

Born on September 27, 1944 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Nathan and Luella Sig Fotusky. John was a US Marine Corp veteran serving during peacetime. He later worked for M.G. Industries where he was a truck driver. He later became disabled in an explosion while on the job.

John was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in White Mills and a former volunteer firefighter and member of the White Mills Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Also surviving is his son John Anthony Fotusky and wife Desirae of Hawley; his daughters Alberta Quick and Patricia Fotusky both of Honesdale and Maryann Renee Rosler and companion Rich Bergman of Greentown; a brother Nate Fotusky and wife Sandy of Beach Lake; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Christine Marie Soja.

A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 6 pm. The family will receive friends 4 to service time. As per his request, cremation will follow.
