A bit strange but heard about John’s passing from my daughter,a member of SUNY at Cobleskill administration. John was a person you would always remember, funny, great part of the basketball team, anyone that met him had an immediate friend. As his basketball coach coach he was known as the fun guy to be around. I am talking about over 50 years ago and lost track of him until hearing about his passing.Sorry about this late. Moment but wanted his family and friends to know how was remembered at Cobleskill. Dr. Gerald Hisert ,retired SUNY Cobleskill

Shelia, Jay D, and family I was stunned to learn of John's sudden passing. Although I have followed his health issues carefully over the past few years, losses like this are never expected. John was such a great friend for over 40 years. I remember first meeting him at Cricket Hill and vividly remember one of the greatest hole in ones ever on #6 there. He bounced the ball about 5 times going down the hill, then the ball went through the trap and up onto the green and into the hole. While everyone was cheering for him he held up his club and said "that's exactly what I was trying to do". Very John-like. Although I'm very saddened that I can't be there today, I'll be there in spirit. I'm coming up for Member-Guest so hopefully I can try to see you Shelia.
