Born on December 5, 1934, in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Jesse and Helen (Holbert) Harrison. Following high school, Jesse briefly served for the United States Air Force before his honorable discharge.

As a truck driver, he began working for Chicago Express. In 1961, he started driving for Floyd Schwartz Trucking and later Chemical Leaman Tank Lines before his retirement in 1997. While with Chemical Leaman, he was proudly awarded the Million Mile Safe Driver award for his flawless driving record.

Following his retirement, Jesse remained busy as he continued to work for Stephens Pharmacy in Honesdale for several years. He also owned and operated J. and Jr. Scooter Rentals.

An active member of the community, he was a member of the Lake and Brook Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 311 and the Honesdale Masonic Lodge. Jesse also served as an associate director of the Wayne County Fair. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Jesse always had a smile on his face and it is hard to find anyone that he met that didn’t like him.
