Johannes III, 60, of Honesdale, died on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. He is survived by his wife, the former Lynn M. Robinson. The couple would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on May 21st. Born on March 27, 1964 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Jerome F. and Marlene A. (Gumble) Johannes. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1983. Jerry began working with his father as a general contractor. He later became a FedEx contractor. He currently was an assistant manager at the Fine Wine and Good Spirits in Honesdale. While his sons were involved with Boy Scouts, Jerry volunteered as an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 1. He was a member of the Prompton United Methodist Church. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. He was also a gifted woodworker. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Colin Johannes and Taylor Johannes, both of Honesdale; his brother, Patrick Johannes and wife Vicki of Honesdale; his sisters, Lisa Finan of Honesdale, Debra Bodie and husband Randy of Honesdale and Andrea Kizer and husband Joseph of Salisbury, NC; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 20th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home at 1 o’clock.
