Jeffrey Cimahosky, 52, of Bethany, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born on January 30, 1966 in Honesdale, he is the son of Anthony Sr. and Nian Langendoerfer Cimahosky. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1984. He was a proud member of the Honesdale Hornets championship football team. He later earned his degree in criminal justice at Mansfield University where he was also played football.

He began his career as a federal agent for the Department of Transportation and later became Director of Eastern Region until his retirement after 24 years. Jeffrey was an avid University of Notre Dame and New York Giants fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Anthony Cimahosky Jr. and wife Evelyn of Beach Lake; his nieces and nephews Eric and Tracie Gelatt, Marissa and Christopher Wallingford, Caitlyn and Steve Schmitt, A.J. Cimahosky and Alec Cimahosky; great nieces and nephews Cody and Evan Gelatt, Ava and Lucas Wallingford, and Anna and Linnea Schmitt. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Arlene and Frank Avery, Ralph and Rita Langendoerfer, Steve and Linda Soden, Sharon Schaffer, Marilyn Cimahosky, Gary Cimahosky and Dr. Mark Pliskin; also many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Kathleen Pliskin.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Decemeber 28th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. As per his request, there will be no public visitation and cremation will follow. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
