Jean Ann Watson, 79, of White Mills, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Ernest Watson. The couple married on October 16, 1954.

Born on March 30, 1936 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Emily Mullen. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School.

Jean worked at Chroma Tube in White Mills and later retired from the Wallenpaupack Area School District where she was employed for 25 years. She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in White Mills where she was the organist for many years. Currently, she was a member of Queen of Peace Church in Hawley where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Jean was also a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Martin.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Jean was known to always be sure her grandchildren were taken care of.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons James W. Watson and wife Brenda of Honesdale, Jeff Watson and wife Candy of Hawley and Jay Watson and wife Gail of Honesdale; her brothers Bill Mullen and wife Brenda of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Bob Mullen and wife Alice of Bethany; sisters Helen Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Donna Bluff and husband Bob of Bethany and Kathy Phillips and husband Bob of Waymart; grandchildren Jimmy Jr and wife Jonell, Jacob and wife Brittney, Jeremy, Joel, Melissa, Tim, Vanessa and husband Andrew and Michael; great grandchildren Bella, Arianna, Braya, Sawyer, Hayden, Holston, Kobe and Gavin; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 8th at Queen of Peace Church, Hawley at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Honesdale. As per her request, there will be no public visitation. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Queen of Peace Choir, 314 Chestnut Ave. Hawley, PA 18428.
