Obituaries » Janet M. DeGroat (Gwozdziewycz) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Janet Marie (Gwozdziewycz) DeGroat, of Waymart, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo P. and Mary Viola Hansen Gwozdziewycz. A devoted mother and grandmother, Janet also worked for many years as a nurses aid. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Carbondale. Surviving is her daughter Lisa Masker and husband Lou of Carbondale; her sons Daniel Hosking of Simpson and Mark Hosking of Waymart; her brothers George Gwozdziewycz of Honesdale, Michael Gwozdziewycz and wife Carolyn of Florida and Edward Gwozdiewycz and wife Julie of Honesdale; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family is also grateful for the care and friendship Intern healthcare provided for Janet and nurses Lynn Mitchell, Anne Howell and Traci McFeely A very heartfelt thanks to the staff of Wayne Memorial hospital and Dr. Charles Kovalchik. As per her request, cremation will held and private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
